THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan made it clear that the checking at railway stations and airports will be intensified considering the rapid spread of mutant Coronavirus. He added that action was initiated to increase the number of oxygen beds in view of the rising Covid transmission.
The chief minister stated that oxygen beds will be ensured at all major hospitals and Covid First-Line Treatment Centres (CFLTC). Buffer stock will be ensured in view of the critical situation, he added.
The beds in the hospitals under ESI Corporation will be converted to oxygen beds. Granting parole to prisoners is considered as disease transmission is happening in prisons, the CM said.
The active cases in the state have increased by 255 percent. The number of doctors and nurses is very low in Covid Brigade. So, more people should come forward to join the Covid Brigade, the CM urged.
